Dog Licensing Information
DOG LICENSING IS REQUIRED
The City of Bella Vista requires all dogs three months of age or older be licensed annually. For any dog brought into the city, the owner shall, within 30 days, have the dog licensed by paying the applicable license fee. Licenses issued are valid for one year, with the option to pay for three years at a time, with proper proof of rabies vaccination. The owner has ten days from the date of expiration of a license to obtain a new license without penalty. For all related animal control regulations please see Ordinance No. 2008-01.
WHY SHOULD YOU LICENSE YOUR DOG?
We use dog licensing records to identify owners of dogs that are picked up by animal control, in order to return dogs home instead of taking them to the Bella Vista Animal Shelter. The license also enables us to know that the dog has been vaccinated for rabies.
Spayed or Neutered – $10.00 annually
Dogs Not Spayed or Neutered – $20.00 annually
Dog licensing is available at City Hall - 101 Town Center, 479-876-1255. Proof of current rabies vaccination is required (certificate or history from veterinarian). Vaccinations must be administered by a licensed veterinarian in accordance with Arkansas law. If you have a change in status or ownership of a dog, please let us know.
Residents may also mail in a dog license application with proof of current rabies vaccination from a licensed veterinarian and payment. Mail these materials to City of Bella Vista, PO Box 5655, Bella Vista, AR 72714. The new tag and a receipt will be sent to you via mail. Find the printable dog license application here.
