The Back 40 trails remain closed at this time due to the recent rains. In an effort to repair damage and control springtime vegetation, the City of Bella Vista is having a city-organized volunteer trails maintenance day starting at 8 a.m. this Saturday, May 6.

We will meet at the Lake Ann trailhead — off Trafalgar Road on Castleford Drive. Participants of any ability are welcome, and families are encouraged to bring their children and get involved in their local trail system management.

Participants should bring tools if they have any available. Tools that would be useful include weed eaters, loppers, rakes, hoes, etc. Participants should also bring water, sunscreen and insect repellent.

The NWA Trailblazers will provide breakfast to participants. It would be helpful if those planning to attend would respond that they are going to The Back 40 Trails Facebook event — https://www.facebook.com/events/203777656799831/ — by Friday afternoon so we can get a head count for food.
