Bella Vista Comp Plan 2040

The City of Bella Vista is in the process of updating the Comprehensive Plan, the guide for future growth and development of the community. Over the next several months we will assess the community, define a vision for the future and prepare policies, strategies and actions to achieve a desired community future. We are in the initial stages of the planning process and would like you to help us assess the community.

There are many ways in which the City of Bella Vista may evolve over the next 20 years. The change that occurs should be based upon the long range vision created by this Comprehensive Plan. To plot out a course of action for the future we must first define the community that is desired. The content of this Framework Workbook presents two distinct options for the future of Bella Vista. The Original Bella Vista and Village 2040 scenarios represent the opposite ends of the spectrum with regard to addressing change in the community. Your input and feedback regarding these two scenarios, and any number of possible scenarios in between will define the policies and strategies that will influence future decisions about Bella Vista.

Community Frameworks public input meeting

Held Tuesday, Ocy. 10 at Riordan Hall

Participants will work with consultants Gould Evans in the next step of the process to define six community frameworks: identity, development, connectivity, economic development, productivity and governance — which will be fine-tuned and then serve to guide decisions about the future of Bella Vista and provide the foundation for the Comprehensive Plan.

Community survey and mapping tool, first Visioning Summit

To get a better understanding of the community and its use by residents, business owners and property owners, we prepared two different tools in August for your use: a Community Survey and a Community Mapping Resource. Each of these tools allowed you to provide specific feedback regarding your impressions and opinions regarding Bella Vista. These items are now closed, and information has been evaluated. The survey and mapping tool were followed by the first public input meeting, the Visioning Summit held at Riordan Hall Aug. 22.

We appreciate your participation in this process.  Please look for additional opportunities to participate in the future.
